Captain Denim and Llanero Solidario, recognized with the 2025 Regional Environment Award for their joint textile reuse project

Capitán Denim y Llanero Solidario, reconocidos con el Premio Regional de Medio Ambiente 2025 por su proyecto conjunto de reutilización textil

Captain Denim and Llanero Solidario, recognized with the 2025 Regional Environment Award for their joint textile reuse project

We are thrilled to announce that the joint project of Capitán Denim and Llanero Solidario has been awarded the 2025 Regional Environment Award , in the Environmental Education category, granted by the Ministry of Sustainable Development of Castilla-La Mancha .

This recognition highlights an initiative promoted and financed by Capitán Denim , developed together with Llanero Solidario , and aimed at transforming the way we understand and consume fashion, focusing on environmental education, textile reuse and the circular economy.

The official award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:00 PM , at the Parador Nacional de Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara) .

An educational project with real impact

The award-winning project consists of a series of textile reuse workshops aimed at high school students in Albacete and the surrounding province. During the sessions, students bring used clothing from home and learn to transform it using basic tailoring, redesign, and sewing techniques.

But beyond the practical transformation, the goal is to raise awareness about the impact of the textile industry , the second most polluting industry in the world after the energy industry.

“Participants locate where their clothes are manufactured, learn to read labels, discover the environmental and social impact of textile production, and learn about alternatives such as reuse or second-hand consumption,” explains Daniel Azaña , project coordinator at Llanero Solidario.

This initiative, born from Capitán Denim's firm commitment to sustainability and education , seeks to empower new generations and provide them with tools to consume more consciously.

A purpose-driven alliance: people, planet, and territory

The project reflects a shared vision between Capitán Denim and Llanero Solidario : a fairer, more inclusive and environmentally friendly development model, where fashion is not just an aesthetic matter, but a way to promote social and environmental change.

As a company committed to local production , social responsibility , and transparency , at Capitán Denim we not only design and manufacture sustainable garments, but we also invest in projects that generate a positive long-term impact on our immediate environment.

“This award recognizes creativity, social commitment and sustainability as key drivers of transformation,” says the Llanero Solidario team.

Educating to change the consumption model

Thanks to this joint initiative, more than a hundred students have been able to reflect on their way of consuming fashion, learn to extend the useful life of garments and, above all, connect sustainability with their daily lives .

Environmental education thus becomes a powerful tool for change. A change that begins locally, but with a global vision.
