Sew and Sing in Captain Denim

🎸 Introduce you to the new section called Sew and Sing 🪡

Transforming the office into a mini stage has not been easy, but it has been worth it. You will see a lot of talent from our area and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did recording it.🎙️

Honky Tonky Sánchez was born on any given day in 1973 under the leaden sky of Usera, a working-class neighborhood of Chinese immigrants plagued by heroin. Years later he decided to leave for the plains of Albacete, where he felt like a favorite son. He crossed the country from end to end with Mercromina during the 90s and much of this century. In 2010 he released his first solo album: “Esta Tierra Hostile” (Molusco Records), garnering a great reception from the public and some media outlets such as Radio3. Seven years later, “De la Piel del Diablo” (El Hombre Music) was released, recorded in Garate with the band Inoren Eroni, as electrical and sound support. Anyone who attends any of his shows can now assume that they will not escape the influence of a voice seasoned in a thousand battles. Sánchez does not bridge the abysses that open in the cracks of the song, he falls into them, and drags us towards them.

An overwhelming live performance and a subtle balance between classic and modern with rock as a base are the master elements of the flammable formula that has made The Niftys a band with the necessary ingredients to sneak into your player.

Winners of the MCC International, Sonidos Mans y Blues Cazorla B lues Battle; finalists of Mad Cool Talent, Shure Call For Legends Europe and chosen as one of the revelations of the year by Turbo3 (Radio 3) among others.

The Niftys draw on influences as diverse as Led Zeppelin, Jimy Hendrix, The Sonics, Queens Of The Stone Age and Jack White. The Niftys' songs are reminiscent of the best times of rock'n'roll but without moving away from the present. Filtering sounds of garage, rockabilly, blues, stoner or even punk, they give rise to the band's proposal to the delight of many. As Julio Ruiz said in RNE, “The Niftys are ancestral sounds, from the ABC of contemporary music .”

A few months after their formation, they won their first international award ' Music Crowd Challenge ', which prompted them to record their first work, ' Stoke The Fire ' (2017), at the Reno studios in Madrid. An album of six songs that takes them to the European final of the Shure Call for Legends band competition organized by Shure, a brand for which they later made an advertising spot.

Two video clips were released from their first work: 'Doom & Gloom', published in Mondo Sonoro, “ a video clip according to what the magazine warned – of excellent quality that highlights the musical proposal of this band” and that of ' My Day ', with comedian Raúl Cimas as the protagonist.

In 2019, The Niftys release their second studio album, ' Sweet Bloody Trip '. An album that shows an evolution in its sound, much more personal and mature. Selected Gourmet Album by Turbo 3, it has obtained numerous recognitions from specialized critics.

The Niftys' tours have taken them to tour a large part of the Peninsula, passing through important festivals such as O Son do Cami ño, Sonorama, SanSan Festival, Blues Cazorla, Montgorock, Mediterrá nea Festival, Atlantic Fest Festardor or Festival de los Sentidos .

They have supported bands like Vetusta Morla, IZAL, Love Of Lesbian or Immaculate Fools.; They performed in London with Viva Sweden within the Rock Sin Subtítulos cycle; and they also accompanied the American Nikki Hill during her entire tour of Spain .

All of this demonstrates the chameleon -like nature of their live performances, with which they manage to connect with all types of audiences through a forceful, energetic and fun show . For some reason they said in the newspaper La Verdad de Murcia that “Chuckberry lives in Albacete”. TVE's La2 recorded this by broadcasting its appearance twice on Radio3's Concerts .

During 2022 they have been releasing previews of their next LP, 'Anídoto' , which was published on March 3, 2023 and marks a turning point for the band with the transition to Spanish in their lyrics.

Their sound also explores new frontiers with more melodic and varied themes, thus finding fast and fun rhythms or deeper mid-tempos, with influences ranging from Rage Against The Machine, to Oasis or The Black Keys.

If they pass by you, don't let them escape. Afterwards , everything will be ashes.

Alberto Sánchez, a multi-instrumentalist based in Albacete from the great metropolis and present in various bands on the local scene, gives life to Azarias Johnson, rescuing past sounds from another century through his acoustic, electric, slide or lapsteel guitars and various china, channeling old blues, primitive riffs, reinterpretations of the most traditional folk songs of lost America, and his own compositions of frontier sounds evoked by the immense skies of the plateau and the distant horizons of these steppe plains.

Adopting the one man band format, he digs his nails into the bones of arcane rhythms and evocative melodies, seeking to awaken the transcendent beneath its simplicity.

Azariah Johnson has come to town!

Vermú is a band from La Roda (Albacete) formed by Daniel Toboso, Antonio Martínez, Francisco Belmonte, Paula Esteban and Emilio Abengoza. Their bright and catchy pop/rock is seasoned with sounds of La Mancha folklore. They fuse tradition and modernity, where the rhythms of jota and seguidilla alternate with traditional lyrics and pop melodies that are difficult to forget. In 2018 they debuted with their first EP 'Vermú' with which they managed to perform at international festivals such as Nos Alive (Lisbon) or the International Pop Overthrow Festival (Liverpool). In 2020 they published their second work 'Cancionero Stoico', positioning themselves as one of the reference bands of indie neofolk, which led them to festivals such as Sonorama or Festival Gigante, and to win the Best Performer Award at the Rock Villa Awards in Madrid. In March 2023, Vermú published 'Duelo de ronda', their second studio work.
