How to prevent your jeans from fading

As you know, denim is originally white and to color it, fabric suppliers use a special dye called indigo. But, like everything else, denim tries to return to its origins and with use, the color of your jeans fades, either due to washing, rubbing, posture or even the way each person walks. This is why it is said that jeans end up adopting the personality of whoever wears them. For example, if you always carry your wallet in one of the back pockets of your pants, over time, your jeans will adopt not the shape, but the pattern that this accessory makes on your jeans. Have you never noticed?

Well, if that color fading occurs naturally -with use-, the garment acquires a different and peculiar touch that makes it unique. However, the forced dyeing of your pants will make them the most hated garment in your wardrobe. So that this does not happen to you, you have to take into account a series of basic care for denim, so you will avoid fading on your jeans.

On the one hand, if you are one of those who like to wash jeans by hand, you should put the garment in a basin or large container with cold water and soap, and let it rest between 1 and 2 hours. After this time, you should remove the water and rinse the jeans to remove the soap completely -if you don't, detergent stains may appear when the garment dries. Finally, you have to let them dry in the air well spread out.

If instead you use a washing machine, you should always wash your jeans inside out and at a maximum of 30 degrees. oh! And as we have said on occasion, try not to mix colors, this way you will keep the dye in perfect condition.

It is also important to know that as raw denim has not been subjected to certain washing and worn processes, it fades more than blue jeans , for example, and therefore, we must carry out certain precautions so that this fading of color is more gradual.

In this sense, to prevent raw denim from fading, put the pants in a basin with lukewarm water and half a cup of vinegar for about an hour, and then remove with cold water and leave to dry in the air well spread out. Another possibility to extend the life of the indigo on your raw jeans is to wash them in the washing machine by adding the same amount of vinegar to the rinse cycle compartment.

There is no longer an excuse not to avoid staining your jeans!
