Aitex and Captain Denim, together for sustainability
In order to minimize the impact that we as an industry have on the environment and thus make the production of our jeans even more sustainable, at Capitan Denim we have begun to work with AITEX on a new R&D project through which We will implement a process that favors the reduction in water consumption -more than 80%- and in the generation of wastewater -more than 90%- compared to traditional processes.
On the other hand, we are jointly carrying out a series of research projects with natural dyes from different plants, with excellent results to date. And we can proudly say that we continue to move towards an increasingly sustainable denim, implementing measures that minimize our impact on the environment and at the same time respect the resources of our planet.
The Textile Industry Research Association, better known as AITEX, is a private association for research, characterization tests and certification of articles and textile materials with application to various sectors such as fashion and clothing, health and medicine, hygiene and cosmetics, public transport, and automotive, among many others.
AITEX's objective is based on transferring technological knowledge to companies through various R&D projects, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the sector and increase business opportunities. In addition to providing companies with the necessary certifications so that they can compete in the international market and facilitate their entry into market niches with high added value.
At the national level, AITEX is currently the reference center for research, innovation and advanced technical services for companies in the textile, clothing and technical textiles sectors.
The drive for internationalization has positioned AITEX as a benchmark in Europe. In fact, AITEX is currently one of the Centers in Europe with the greatest Technical Scope of Accreditation of the quality of laboratory tests by ENAC-ILAC, the national accreditation entity and its European brand umbrella.
It is therefore a project framed within the measures that we have been implementing for several years now, focused on the production, management and distribution of an increasingly sustainable product that respects the environment and defends decent working conditions for workers. and workers.
