What requirements must a garment certified with the 'Made in Green' seal meet?

¿Qué requisitos debe reunir una prenda certificada con el sello ‘Made in Green’?

What requirements must a garment certified with the 'Made in Green' seal meet?

The change of course towards an increasingly ecological, sustainable and, ultimately, healthier lifestyle is a reality that affects not only our diet and our physical activity, but also our way of dressing. And it is that little by little society is creating awareness of how our decisions and actions affect our environment. Among the certificates that emerge as clear proof of this, the 'Made in Green' seal stands out, created by the Textile Industry Research Association -better known as AITEX-.

This is the green seal that certifies that certified textile products are ecological and socially responsible, guaranteeing that these garments have been produced respecting the environment and the universal rights of workers.

Among the requirements for a product to be certified with the 'Made in Green' seal, are:

-       That the product certificate is ÖKO-Tex according to Standard 100.

-       That it has been produced in a center certified as ISO 14001, EMAS or equivalent.

-       That the production center where the product has been manufactured meets a code of conduct and social responsibility that includes the Standard defined by AITEX, based on the international standard SA8000.

In addition, the companies certified with these seals are subject to strict control by highly prestigious external and independent entities or bodies, which certify that throughout the product manufacturing process - from spinning to finishing and clothing, including weaving and dyeing - a specific environmental management system and a code of conduct and corporate social responsibility have been respected.

Thus, you will be happy to know that Captain Denim fabrics are effectively certified with the 'Made in Green' seal, the most demanding that currently exists in terms of health, environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. In this way, the final consumer is guaranteed that Captain Denim products do not contain harmful chemical substances and have been produced respecting the environment and the human rights of workers.
