Joplin, the jeans that sound like 'Piece of My Heart'
As inveterate music lovers that we are, we couldn't stop paying homage to one of the greats of rock & blues, one of the most powerful voices on the international scene of all time, the American Janis Joplin -1943/1970-.
Despite her brief musical career, in just 4 years our dear Janis performed at important festivals such as Woodstock, Festival Express or Monterey Pop Festival -where she rose to fame in 1967-, among others, and got 5 of her singles to go to Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 1 with the song 'Me and Bobby McGee'. He released 3 albums while he was alive and a fourth album, the famous 'Pearl', a few months after his death, a work that reached number 1 on the Billboard charts.
Janis Joplin became a feminine symbol of rebellion and the counterculture of the time, as she was the first woman considered a great rock star. Among her milestones are her entry into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1995, and her being chosen as the third best female rock artist on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in Rock list in 1999.
In addition, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Janis Joplin 28th out of the 100 greatest singers of all time in 2008. And the American received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
For all these reasons, at Captain Denim we pay tribute to it with a model that evokes the style of the '60s: the Joplin is a 5-pocket, mid-waist, bootcut or flared cut. Made of elastic fabric 'Made in Green' -ecological and socially responsible- it is a jean inspired by freedom and rebellion, youth and the power of music. Reimagined classic jeans that never go out of style. I'm sure Janis would like it!
