We interview Paz, the beginnings of Captain Denim
Passionate about stories, a homebody, and enjoying the little things like snacking on homemade custard while spending time with her grandchildren. That's Paz! She, along with José María, started the journey of Captain Denim, and today, Women's Day, we thought there's no better way to celebrate than by getting to know her a little better with this interview we conducted. Read on.
A movie or series that you have to see once in your life
I'm a sucker for all films based on true events, including those set during World War II. But if I had to choose just two, they would be Life Is Beautiful and Schindler's List. They make me reflect and appreciate every second.
A reading that has remained engraved in your memory
As you can see, I love war stories, which is why The Shoe with the Broken Tongue by María Zabay is a book I would recommend to everyone. The last book I read was The Last Days of Berlin by Paloma Sánchez-Garnica, also on this subject, and I loved it.
Trip you would repeat
Without a doubt, New York was a trip to remember and, of course, to repeat. I'll remember every corner of the city, from the surroundings, the way of life, every place we visited, the musical we thoroughly enjoyed, walking through Central Park... Oh! And you can't leave New York without seeing Rockefeller Center; it was one of my favorite places in the city.
Your meal (or dessert) that you never tire of sinking your teeth into
I admit it, my custard. I love all kinds of custard, but mine are finger-licking good, and every time I make them, they fly!
Your reference/inspiration person
I have more than one reference point, to be honest: my three children and my mother. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today.
A song you can't stop singing
Just one? Serrat is one of my favorite singer-songwriters, so the songs "Caminante no hay camino" and "Mediterranean" convey such peace to me. Mercedes Sosa's "Siempre le pido a Dios" is also one of my favorites.
A place that brings you happiness
I love to travel, but, as they say, “there’s no place like home.” I’m a very homey person, and enjoying my home with my children and grandchildren is the perfect plan.
A message
Now more than ever, my message would be one of peace, to spread peace to everyone. Knowing how to forgive in order to live with a clear conscience is essential to happiness.
