Captain Denim and the "Calculate, Reduce, Compensate" certificate: our commitment to sustainability
At Captain Denim, we are thrilled to announce that we have obtained the "Calculate, Reduce, Compensate" certification from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and Aenor . This distinction is a triple accreditation that confirms our commitment to managing our carbon footprint through three fundamental pillars: calculating, reducing, and offsetting our emissions. Every step we take in the production of our jeans and garments is focused on minimizing our environmental impact and promoting more sustainable fashion.

What does the "Calculate, Reduce, Compensate" certificate mean?
This certification is based on three key aspects that help companies manage their emissions and reduce their environmental impact. Let's take a look at each of them and how we apply them at Captain Denim:
1. Calculation: Knowing our carbon footprint
The first step in managing our carbon footprint is knowing how much CO2 emissions we generate. At Captain Denim, we perform a comprehensive calculation of our emissions , considering each phase of our production chain, from fabric manufacturing to product distribution. This calculation allows us to understand the impact each process has on the environment and lay the groundwork for establishing clear reduction targets.
2. I reduce: Actions to minimize the impact
The next step is to work on reducing our carbon footprint . This involves taking concrete actions that help us minimize our emissions. At Captain Denim, we implement various reduction strategies, such as using sustainable fabrics and a commitment to local production. We also work with clean energy sources , including biomass (using waste from local farmers such as almond shells, pistachios, olive pits, and peaches) and solar energy generated by the solar panels we have in our own factory. All of this helps us maintain responsible and sustainable production.
3. Compensation: Restoring balance with Captain Denim Forest
Although we reduce our emissions, we know that eliminating them completely is difficult. Therefore, the final step in this process is emissions offsetting . At Captain Denim, we offset our CO2 emissions by planting our own Captain Denim Forest in our community, Madrigueras. This project not only helps absorb CO2 but also contributes to improving the region's natural environment. We also complement these actions by purchasing carbon credits to support CO2 absorption and clean energy initiatives.
Official recognition in the Carbon Footprint Registry
We are proud that, following a detailed analysis, our organization has been included in the Carbon Footprint, Offsetting, and Carbon Dioxide Removal Projects Registry . This registry publishes detailed information about our emissions and offset actions, such as the CO2 emissions ratio and the calculated scope, so that our clients and the public can transparently understand our environmental commitment.
Another step in our commitment to sustainability
At Captain Denim, we believe that fashion doesn't have to be at odds with respect for the environment. With the "Calculate, Reduce, Compensate" certification, the use of clean energy, and our own forest, we take our commitment to sustainability a step further, ensuring that every garment we make not only respects the values of quality and durability, but also the principles of ecological responsibility.
